What's new

What's changed, release by release — new capabilities and the occasional thing that needed fixing.

v1.0.0 September 5, 2026

Added

  • Choose, per household account, whether it can rip discs, use the music player, or both — off by default for a new account until explicitly turned on.
  • Every season of a series now has its own "Play season in VLC" link, loading the whole season as a playlist instead of one episode at a time.
  • Missing a subtitle in a language you want? A movie's page can now search for one and add it permanently, matched to your exact file so it stays in sync.
  • The catalog can now be filtered by actor, director, audio language, and movie vs. series, on top of the existing search and genre filter.
  • The sharing page now shows titles you've ripped yourself alongside what's shared with you, instead of hiding them — and a single checkbox replaces the old separate "select all" / "select none" buttons.

Fixed

  • Stopping a rip during disc-recovery now actually stops it — previously it could keep going quietly in the background and finish anyway, keeping nothing usable despite showing as stopped.
  • A movie with only a single long title on the disc no longer gets mis-filed as a TV series just because an ambiguous title match was picked.
  • A job's activity log no longer slows its page down after a long disc-recovery — very long logs are now trimmed to the most recent activity.
  • Background monitoring of the remote-access connection no longer reports a false alarm every time it quietly repairs itself — only when something is genuinely still broken.
